Plain-language privacy
Your clips stay on your Mac.
Pre-release preview, October 15, 2026. This summarizes the version-one candidate, not a final release privacy policy. Release behavior, seller contact details, and App Store privacy disclosures still require verification.
What the app saves
ClipChick saves copied text and images in local app storage. It also keeps timestamps, pin state, and a best-effort identifier for the app that was frontmost when the copy was noticed. That app hint may not be the original source.
You control the history
The default is 10 clips, adjustable from 10 to 5,000. Pinned clips count toward that limit; older unpinned clips are removed as new clips arrive. There is no time-based expiry.
You can pause new recording, remove individual clips, clear unpinned clips, or confirm Delete All History to remove both pinned and unpinned clips and their image files. Deleting history does not clear your Mac’s current clipboard or erase copies held in other apps, backups, or storage remnants. Content copied while paused is not imported when you resume.
Sensitive information
ClipChick skips new clips carrying recognized confidential, transient, or automatically generated clipboard markers. This depends on the source app marking the content. Unmarked passwords and other sensitive information can still be saved. Pause history before sensitive work when needed.
No cloud clipboard in version one
The version-one candidate does not send clip content or source metadata to ClipChick servers. Core history and text search work offline without a ClipChick account. Version one does not send images to AI providers, request Calendar access, or create calendar events.
